Catch23 - Improv Comedy Showdown - Aug 5th

Catch 23 - the fastest twenty-three minutes of your life - three freaking times!

Three teams of improvisers fight the hell out of each other using God's intended weapons of wit and dick-jokes.

They each have twenty-three minutes to pull their best improv out of the bag and onto the stage, where it is voted on by you! The audience! Totally unfairly!

Toronto's favourite impro competition, created by the wonderful Kurt Smeaton - comes to London for the first time. Cast so far: Dylan Emery, Paul Foxcroft. More will come.

It's the three things that matter most to you - democracy, comedy, and beer, all in one night. What's not to like?

Midlands Improv one day workshop & performance

Rich Coad will be running a one day impro workshop that will result in an optional performance in the evening.

The workshop & show will be on Saturday 25th September 12pm-5pm workshop followed by a 7pm performance alongside WOW Impro. Both the workshop and performance are at Theatre Absolute, City Arcade, Coventry 

The day will cover the basic laws needed for performing improv and is suitable for all levels from beginner to experienced imrpoviser wanting to perform with a new troupe.

Baby Wants Candy needs interns to take up to Edinburgh

Baby Wants Candy are a truly amazing Improv troupe from Chicago who crash the Edinburgh Fringe every few years and blow everyone away with their Improvised Musical Show (now with added full band awesomeness). This year they’re back again and quite excitingly they need some help.

Okay. Let’s get one thing straight from the start. These guys are incredible, last time they got a five star review from The Scotsman (which is the Edinburgh Fringe equivalent of scoring the winning goal in the World Cup final while blindfolded and surrounded by lions ie. very rare and very impressive).

They’re looking for 5 interns to come up to Edinburgh for the full three weeks (if possible) and help with stuff like flyering, ticketing and promoting the show. This is obviously a once in a lifetime opportunity, especially if you’re an improviser and want to hang out with some world class talent.

Show at the Ship tomorrow night...

Come along for a Friday eve of comedy impro fun. It's a weekend so you can have an extra half, and the Ship Inn (68 Borough Road) even has a garden where you can soak up the rain/sun/cloud before or after.

Doors are at 8:40pm and show starts at 9:00pm.
